Shopping with Sirvinya!

I met up with fellow blogger/youtuber Becky AKA Sirvinya for the first time today. If you watch a lot of makeup videos on YouTube then there's a very good chance that you will have seen her videos and also her blog www.sirvinya.com. Becky was one of the first makeup gurus that I came across when I first started watching makeup videos on YouTube, long before I started my own channel and still remains one of my favourite.
As you can imagine, it felt a bit a surreal at first, but that soon passed and we had a very enjoyable afternoon makeup shopping. Stay tuned for the haul video...

Clinique Update: 1 Week On.

Half-way through the two-week trial! Here's an update on how I'm getting on with the products and some info on the 3thingsbefore30 website.
Note: I have added a few annotations, as the 3thingsbefore30 website has changed since I filmed this and I am now a fully-fledged Clinique Ambassador :-), so they are there to explain things.
If you want to sign up to www.3thingsbefore30.com and use my code, then it is: FR16320730. I won't get anything for it, but it will tell them how you heard about the website.

I've been chosen to be a Clinique Ambassador!

A little while ago, I was contacted by Clinique asking if I would like to be an Ambassador for them, which involves trying out and reviewing their products. Well, I jumped at the chance! After completing an application and a questionnaire to determine my skin type (Type 2 Dry/Combination), I received an email to tell me that I had been chosen and a package arrived containing their famous 3-Step Skincare System, along with instructions...

My task is use the products twice a day for two weeks, keep a video diary on my progress and write a review.

So I used the 3-Step Skincare System for the first time this morning and filmed a video of the experience:
Watch it here:

It's late in the evening now and I've got work in the morning, so I'm going to get ready for bed, which means using the products again. I don't normally use a moisturiser before bed - there's a lot of debate about whether it's a good idea or not, however the main argument against using a moisturiser at night is that the skin repairs itself during the night and the skin should be given a chance to breathe. However, in order to do this trial properly I'm going to have to use the moisturiser at night, as well as in the daytime.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED? The website www.3thingsbefore30.com will be going live to the public soon and I can invite people, so if you would like an invite, send your name and email address to me at: cosmetichameleon@btinternet.com

Face Of The Day: 9th July 2010

I'm loving my new eyeshadows and the Pixie Epoxy from Fyrinnae so much! Here's the look I created today. Who says blue and green should never be seen?! The photos really don't do the colours justice, but I tried my best...

Face Of The Day: 8th July 2010

So I received my new Fyrinnae eyeshadows yesterday and really wanted to have a play with them today, however I had a bit of a dilemma... I knew that I would be going to my weekly Zumba class this evening and as that means getting very sweaty, I normally keep makeup to an absolute minimum. I couldn't resist though and so I went for this look. It's quite subtle I think and best of all, it was still in place after the class. Result!

Items used:
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation '100 Ivory'
  • ELF Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter 'Glow/Light'
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural 'Light Medium'
  • 17 Blusher 'Bramble Frost'
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
  • Fyrinnae 'Stormbringer' (on lid and lower lashline)
  • Fyrinnae 'Monarch Butterfly' (in crease and outer v)
  • The Body Shop - 'Vanilla Cream' - I think! It's so old, that the print is unreadable. (on brow bone)
  • 17 Eye Liner 'Azure' (on lower lashline)
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil 'Zero' (on lower waterline)
  • Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara 'Black'
  • Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick 'Good-to-go'

I got mail! My first Fyrinnae order.

The postman has been and I'm very excited to share some quick pics with you. This is my first order from Fyrinnae and without even trying them out yet, I can see that I am going to love the eyeshadows. The colours are so vibrant and multidimensional. They look a-m-a-z-i-n-g! I also purchased a tube of Pixie Epoxy, as I've seen it on other blogs and on YouTube and when you see what it can do, I know you'll want to get it too...

So these are what all the colours look like in natural daylight without flash, as laid out in the photo above:

I can do blogging, me!

Well, I've finally created a blog. It seems only right that I should have a blog to go with my YouTube channel, so here it is!
Now I will be able to keep you up to date on things, especially when it's not always possible to make a video when I want to and I'll also be able to show clearer swatches of colours, as sometimes these don't show up accurately on film. I expect that I'll also talk about other random things in my life too, so you'll probably get to know me a little bit better. Is that a good thing? You tell me...
